ACCESS10 EXHIBITION

ACCESS 10 is a show about a diverse group of individuals who are convening to do an Art Exhibition which will celebrate one year of art practice following their studies on an access course at UCA Canterbury from 2010-2011.

The majority of us have just completed our first year studying at degree level in Fine Art, although one or two of us have studied Photography and Textiles and others have continued their practice outside of the college environment.

This show has been an occasion for us to get together and revaluate our work as a cohort. It is rare to see a show of first year students' work because usually students wait until they exhibit in their final degree show, which gives them the status of BA graduates.  We wanted to continue the momentum of interacting together as a post access group.

This show at Limbo, Margate, illustrates the broad spectrum, and mode of artistic expression, already developed within the group. We are a strong collective of committed artists who aim to show together in the future, possibly in a smaller or larger group.
